एक जिले में जिलाधिकारी के रूप में आपकी नियुक्ति हुई है। हाल ही में सुरक्षा एजेंसियों को सूचना मिली है कि जिले में सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से फर्जी वीडियो और भ्रामक संदेश फैलाकर सांप्रदायिक तनाव उत्पन्न करने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। प्रारंभिक जांच में पता चलता है कि कुछ स्थानीय प्रभावशाली व्यक्तियों की भी इसमें अप्रत्यक्ष भूमिका है।
इसी बीच, कुछ नागरिक संगठन अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता का हवाला देते हुए सोशल मीडिया पर किसी भी प्रकार की सरकारी कार्रवाई का विरोध कर रहे हैं। दूसरी ओर, यदि समय रहते कार्रवाई नहीं की गई तो कानून-व्यवस्था बिगड़ने और जन-धन की हानि की आशंका है।

You have been appointed as the District Magistrate of a district. Recently, security agencies received information that fake videos and misleading messages are being circulated through social media to create communal tension in the district. Preliminary investigation reveals that some local influential persons are also indirectly involved in the matter.
At the same time, some civil society organizations are opposing any government action on social media, citing the right to freedom of expression. On the other hand, if timely action is not taken, there is a serious possibility of deterioration in law and order, leading to loss of life and property.
As a public servant, you are required to take a balanced decision while ensuring national security, protecting citizens’ freedoms, maintaining transparency, and upholding the Rule of Law.
